The short version
- We collect only what we need to sell you Clip Bin, run your licence and email you.
- The panel never sends your footage, projects or clip names anywhere.
- The site has no analytics and no tracking cookies.
- We never sell your details.
Who is responsible
Insert Editing Ltd is responsible for your personal data. Our details are at the end of this page.
When you buy
Your order is handled by Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details and we never see them. Paddle shares with us your name, email address, country and the details of your order, so we can issue your licence and help if something goes wrong.
Paddle is responsible for the data it holds as merchant of record. Its privacy policy is at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
Your licence
When you activate Clip Bin we store your licence key, the email it belongs to, and for each machine an anonymous identifier, the date it was activated and the Clip Bin version. That’s how we count machines and let you move your licence.
What the panel doesn’t collect
Clip Bin runs inside Premiere on your machine. It doesn’t read or send your media, your projects or the names of your clips. Its log file stays on your machine, and only reaches us if you send it.
It contacts us for two things only: to activate, check or remove your licence, and to see whether a newer version exists when the panel opens.
Emails
If you buy, we email your receipt, your licence key and anything important about your licence, such as a fix you need.
We only send news about new versions if you ask for it, by ticking the box at checkout or signing up for updates. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing never affects your licence.
When you sign up we keep your email address and the page that brought you to us. The signup form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which processes some technical data about your visit under Google’s own privacy policy.
When you email us
We keep your message and our reply so we can help you, and for as long as it’s useful for that.
Who else handles your data
We use a few services to run Clip Bin, and each handles only what it needs:
- Paddle for checkout, payment, tax and refunds
- Cloudflare to host this site and run the licence service
- Resend to send emails
- Google reCAPTCHA to protect the signup form
Some of these services store data outside the UK. Where they do, it’s protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as standard contract clauses.
This site
The site has no analytics and sets no tracking cookies. Cloudflare, which hosts it, processes basic technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site from attack.
How long we keep it
We keep your licence and order details for as long as your licence exists, and order records for as long as tax law requires. We keep your email on the updates list until you unsubscribe.
Why we’re allowed to
We use your data to supply what you bought, to meet our legal obligations such as keeping tax records, and, for news emails, because you asked for them.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected]. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
